Drawing walls
When drawing walls, the main thing is not to try to repeat all the internal dimensions of the rooms with 100% accuracy. Real walls are not always rectangular and their thickness cannot always be measured. Despite the fact that the program allows you to draw a plan that exactly repeats the actual size of the building, much faster not to spend time on the exact drawing of the walls, and then, using special tools, to calculate the correct area.
Let’s start drawing with any corner of the capital wall of type A. Choose the required wall in the library, set its axis, and then type the dimensions on the keyboard one by one, and indicate the drawing direction with the mouse. The technology of drawing a wall, in this case, does not differ in any way from that of drawing a segment, using polar tracing. In the process of drawing, the walls are automatically paired with each other.
Inserting objects
Just like walls, other elements are inserted from a pre-prepared library. The behavior of elements on the plan depends on which object class they belong to. For example, windows and doors can only be inserted into walls, and the window thickness will automatically change depending on the wall, while the width of the window opening will remain the same. Inserted columns will then be taken into account in the automatic calculation of area, but bathtubs and other sanitaryware will not.
For each object class there is a set of tools which allow you to position the element precisely on the plan. Let’s consider some examples. To insert a window, select it in the library, specify the point from which the measurement was made, switch to the mode “by two measurements”, and enter values from the keyboard.
Working with rooms
The program allows you to automatically get the explication of the property, but for this we do not just write the values of areas and dimensions. In the process of drawing, we form a semantic structure of the plan, which will be used later for the construction of the legend, as well as calculate the areas.
Area Calculation
As mentioned earlier, when you draw the floor plan in classical technology, you should not try to reproduce the outline exactly, it will take a lot more time and your efforts will not be visible when you print the plan to scale anyway. Of course, if the plan is drawn exactly to size, you can calculate the area of closed contours in any graphics program, but this area has its own disadvantages: it can not be checked, and most importantly, often the area obtained in this way will not coincide with the area calculated by formula.
